We’re Helen and James, lifelong animal lovers whose dedication to caring for pets inspired the creation of Harrison Bark. Our personalised, one-on-one pet services are designed to meet the individual needs of each animal, ensuring they receive the attention, engagement, and enrichment they deserve.

Our story began in 2020, when we met and, during the pandemic, volunteered to care for people’s pets. This experience reignited our shared passion for animal care, reminding us of the joy that comes from building trusting connections with pets and providing them with the love and attention they need.

Although our academic paths led us to master’s degrees in the biological sciences, our hearts were drawn to hands-on, personalised pet care. Creating Harrison Bark has allowed us to combine this passion with our environmental values—offering expert, compassionate services that are also consciously low-impact

Sustainability is not just part of what we do; it shapes how we operate. We are a fully vehicle-free business, delivering all services on foot or by public transport to reduce emissions and congestion in our local communities. We also partner with eco-conscious suppliers, avoid single-use plastics, and actively promote ethical and environmentally responsible pet products. Our commitment is a living one: we are always learning, reviewing, and improving so that responsible pet care and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.
